Determining Factors

Establishing

A child's custodian, parent, or substantially contributing agency, may request temporary child support be Ordered by the Court.

In Kentucky many factors may be considered. However, there are "Kentucky Guidelines" and unless you prove you need a deviation, they will be used.

Deviations are argued by the parties, and decided by the Court. The Court  may consider extensive factors in a child's life when deviating.

Modifying

To modify child support in Kentucky, you must meet certain criteria.

The modification being requested must result in an equal to, or greater than fifteen percent (15%) change in the amount of support due per month.
